Bonn Design is a one person operation. I specialize in designing residential projects on infill lots in the Portland Metropolitan Area.
Development is tightly regulated these days.There are base zones, overlay zones and design standards. Just figuring out what is possible on a piece of property is a puzzle.
Development is regulated to manage growth. There is also growing concern with the environmental impact of development that has become so complex. Regulations are changing so quickly that those administering the codes sometimes disagree about what is permitted.
Any proposed development must fit into the overlapping boxes, but the regulations are no guarantee of achieving a cost effective, functional and pleasing design. In addition, many folks are taking more interest in green opportunities for development. That’s where I come in. I am a certified Earth Advantage Sustainable Homes Professional and a LEED Accredited Professional in Building Design & Construction, with over thirty years of construction experience. (RESUME)
My job is to listen and to learn. Understanding your desires, goals and limitations is the first step toward designing something both beautiful and practical. I never forget that design has no value if the project does not meet your objectives, cannot comply with the development standards and/or cannot be constructed within your budget.
